ONYX BOOX Livingstone

ONYX BOOX Livingstone is a device for reading electronic books with the E Ink Carta Plus screen of the latest generation, which has a higher definition and contrast, built-in MOON light 2 system with color temperature control and the SNOW Field function. Thanks to a high-performance 4-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, the eReader has a higher operating speed . A Wi-Fi module and a built-in browser allows the user to surf on the Internet. The software of this eReader allows to configure almost any text parameters at the user's will. Thanks to an embodied G-sensor, you can quickly change the display orientation when rotating the eReader. The Android operating system allows you to install third-party programs for reading. The device is made in a new compact ergonomic case and comes with a designer cover case made by SIDE Control technology and having built-in scrolling buttons.

Screen frontlight system

The MOON Light 2 technology enables one to use the device in the dark or under poor lighting conditions. When this function is in use, soft luminescence of the screen comfortable for reading in dark rooms is being generated. It also has a color temperature control and, thanks to the use of Flicker-Free technology, the front-light system is perfectly smooth.

Capacitive Multi-touch screen

E Ink Carta Plus display has a lighter base and higher contrast than other screens of this class. It allows one to read in bright sunlight and has a high rate of screen refresh. Absence of a shimmering light and the principle of image formation with E Ink method makes reading comfortable for eyes. Capacitive sensor, supporting a Multi-touch function, provides an easy control with fingers.

High performance

A quad-core processor with 1.2 GHz clock rate and 1 GB of RAM ensures comfortable work with difficult documents. And 8 GB of nonvolatile memory and a microSD-slot supporting memory cards up to 32 GB allows the user to store a whole library.

Format support

The BOOX software allows the user to open files of various text and graphic formats. When reading you can change font style and size, disposition of pages, insert bookmarks, add your own fonts and zoom documents at will.

Built-in dictionaries

There are pre-installed English-Russian and Russian-English dictionaries in Livingstone. To translate an unknown word just choose it in the text.

New library

The library sorts ebooks by author, title and series. Convenient search and filters allow you to find quickly any needed book by genre, language, date of publication etc. In addition, standard folders, created on PCs, are supported.

Handy recording of ebooks into the memory

In addition to the standard way of copying ebooks with the help of a USB cable, you can transfer them via Bluetooth or a Wi-Fi channel when connected to the Internet. Also a new cloud PUSH service "Send2boox" is available.

Case cover by the SIDE Control technology

The device comes with a smart cover which not only provides effective protection of the screen, but when closed turns automatically the device into a sleep mode. On its right side there are convenient scrolling buttons.

Screen Auto-rotate function

The built-in G-sensor automatically selects the correct text orientation when the device is rotated. Thanks to this option, you can change the orientation of the eReader and the image will be restructured automatically. The scrolling buttons on the cover case also change their functions according to the orientation of the screen.

Bluetooth module

Thanks to a built-in Bluetooth module of the 4.1 standard you can connect an external keyboard or other external devices.
