What is E Ink Carta?

E Ink Carta is the latest development of E Ink company. This display is made by "electronic paper" technology and allows you to read on it as comfortably as on regular paper pages. Compared to the previous models, this one has a lighter base and higher contrast.

Screen lighting

The unique MOON Light+ technology enables one to use the device in the dark or under poor lighting conditions. When this function is used, soft luminescence of the screen (comfortable for reading) is being generated.

What is MOON Light+?

MOON Light+ technique uses a reflective light distribution. The light-conducting layer is located over the display. The light goes through this layer and is reflected towards the screen being absorbed by the dark elements of the image and then this reflected light enters the eyes. On sensations this light is similar to the reflected light from an external source. This kind of lighting is significantly more comfortable for reading than backlit LCD displays.

What is SNOW Field?

SNOW Field is an operating mode of the screen, allowing to reduce the number of artifacts on the screen within partial refresh. If this function is on, full refresh of the screen is not needed.

Capacitive Multi-touch screen

The screen of the latest generation E Ink Carta with a diagonal of 6.8" has a lighter base and higher contrast than other screens of the type. It makes the text readable in bright sunlight and has a high rate of a screen refresh. The absence of shimmering light and the principle of image formation with the E Ink method makes reading comfortable for your eyes. Capacitive sensor, supporting a Multi-touch function, provides an easy control with fingers.

Format support

The BOOX software allows the user to open files of various text and graphic formats. When reading you can change font style and size, disposition of pages, insert bookmarks, add your own fonts and zoom documents at your will.

Built-in dictionaries

The Cleopatra 3 eReader has pre-installed English-Russian and Russian-English dictionaries. Want to translate an unknown word? Just touch it!

Smart cover
